"My Name is Harvey Milk" Short Film, 2007 Dir by Leo Herrera from Leo Herrera on Vimeo.
"All young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to acheive their full potential." -Harvey Milk
"Hope will never be silent." -Harvey Milk
This here is a haunting yet beautiful video of Harvey Milk's political will. What an amazing man he was. But what baffles my mind is that there are still equal rights issues going on in this country. Can we not set aside our differences and realize that we are all humans and deserve to be treated equally? How do we change this? We, the LGBT community seems to be looking for a leader, but I do not think that is where the solution lies. I believe it is in the individual, and the power of small acts to create a synergy of change. As Mother Teresa said, "Do not wait for a leader; do it alone, person to person."
Over and Out,
